ARTIST – CONNOR LILJESTROM “One for Each of You”

Kate Binger, Owner of Dwelling, a boutique interior design firm in Jackson Hole, is known for her artful colorful interior designs. Kate is also known for her personal relationships with her clients from who she draws inspiration from their individual experiences, design preferences, and lifestyle. This collaboration results in a completely customized space, designed to specifically fit each client’s way of life. Through her love of rich textiles, relationships with local artisans and craftspeople, and by focusing on materials inspired by travel, Kate creates fully custom elements to enhance each client’s home.

In one of her most recent design projects, Kate knew she wanted to commission Connor Liljestrom, a young new talented artist in the valley. She had the perfect backdrop with the client’s love of red, blue, greens and gray. Connor excels at layering color and taking on large canvases which was of paramount importance for breaking up the expanse of the Great Room wall.

ARTIST – TUCK FAUNTLEROY “Waterline IV” PHOTOGRAPHY – DAVID AGNELLO

Well known to the Jackson Hole area, Tuck Fauntleroy’s photography beckoned to adorn the entry. This design client was set on pieces from local artists. The black and white piece entitled “WaterLine IV” depicts the Snake River and afforded Kate to open the door to an array of color all around.

Pam Gibson, a western encaustic artist, is showcased here in the very intimate spot in the bookcase to balance the conversation between the reading chairs and picture window. Kate chose her abstract encaustic paintings which are a complex layers of molten beeswax, vibrant pigment and found objects are fused together by fire because of their beauty and textures.

Kate strives to create eclectic spaces that grow with and contribute to her client’s lifestyles, incorporating comfort, flow, texture and color. She weaves these design aspects into her vignettes to paint warmth into the space through elements such as grasscloths, woven rugs and textured wall papers. Her breadth of talent can be seen in these “Before” photos below. Kate truly transforms spaces with her design and love of color all presented through her passion for art.
