If you can elbow your way into the bar, Local, is my favorite spot to sip on a libation. Located next door to the famous, Million Dollar Cowboy Bar, which will be somewhere you will hang your hat at some point on your trip but not so much after skiing. At Local enjoy their original Buffalo Tartare, Tasty Fries or Oysters on the Half Shell. It has a fun “local” vibe and you are bound to run into someone you know from some distant land.
Just around the corner is “The Silver Dollar Bar” located in the historic Wort Hotel perfect for “Mr.” with sports playing on every screen and for “Mrs.” a place to be seen. This is where my hubby and I met many moons ago and it still stands out as the most interesting joint in JH. Try a “Wyoming or Montana Mule” or a “Cowboy Handshake” to wet your whistle. Live music and dancing is to be had on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday & Saturday 7:30 – 11pm. You definitely don’t want to miss this western scene.
A little off the beaten path is Rendezvous Bistro, which you will have to drive to but so worth the atmosphere and food. It has the best Fried Calamari in the valley and paired with a Bistro Frisee will leave you perfectly full after your day of skiing and lunch on the mountain.
Located at the base of the mountain in the Four Seasons Resort, you’ll find THE most Apres Ski Bar ever, The Handle Bar, with an outside bar and heaters perfectly designed for ski in and ski out. You’ll want to start saving your table around 3PM and order a “Barrel Aged Negroni” or a warm “Hot Chocolate and Baileys” and a not to miss “THE HANDLE BURGER” with caramelized onions, roasted mushrooms, white cheddar, truffle aioli. You literally won’t want to leave this cozy spot on the mountain which houses several restaurants such as The Westbank Grill and the Ascent Lounge.
The Alpenhof Bistro is not to be missed on your trip to JH. As you turn back time to this Austrian-Bavarian hotel and restaurant, you’ll enjoy the “Chan Man Band” playing Polka Tunes, signature pretzels and a local brew. You’ll run into the likes of world re-known skiers, locals and VIP’s who are all trying to get a seat at the bar. The scene is nostalgic, fun and truly One-of-a-Kind.

If you have starving kids after ski school with boots and gear, belly up to Osteria Italian Restaurant located inside of Hotel Terra.. You won’t be disappointed with their drink “Sage Advice” or “Teton Sunset” paired with the Oven Roasted Olives, Burrata Salad, Cinque Formaggio Pizza or Parmigiano Risotto. Authentic Italian Fare with a great fire and pizza oven to ward off the mountain’s chill.
